PRIVACY POLICY ✅

Welcome to Her Voice Her Strength. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, make a donation, or interact with our content. We are committed to ensuring your information is handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who We Are

Her Voice Her Strength is more than a blog — it’s a living journal of my journey through breast cancer and beyond. A space born from pain, healing, and hope.

Here, I share my heart: my lived experience, the tender quiet prayers, the loud doubts, the battles with my body, the grief, the gratitude for small moments, the light of faith, and the truth and beauty of a life still unfolding.

This space is for anyone searching for strength, softness, or simply a reminder that they’re not alone.

I’m holding space here — for truth-telling, for reflection, for breathing room. A space to build community, raise awareness, and honour every voice that whispers, breaks, or roars with courage. Whether you’re here for comfort, connection, or to feel a little less alone, you are welcome.

This site is lovingly managed by Ms Andréa. If you have any questions about how your information is handled, you can reach me at: heroic.herstrength@gmail.com

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information entered into the comment form — like your name, email address, and the comment itself — along with your IP address and browser information to help protect the site from spam.

Comments are held for moderation before they appear publicly. This means your comment will be reviewed and approved by the site admin to ensure it’s respectful, supportive, and appropriate for this community.

If you use a Gravatar (a profile picture linked to your email), an anonymised version of your email may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you have one. You can view their privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy.

Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if available) may be shown next to your comment.

Media

If you upload images or videos to the website, please be aware that some media may contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can potentially download and extract this information from any images or videos published. To protect your privacy and safety, it’s a good idea to remove this data before uploading, or to upload media without location data.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to improve your experience. Here’s how:

Commenting: If you leave a comment, we’ll save your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience, so you don’t need to fill them in again next time. These cookies will last for one year.

Login: When you visit the login page, we’ll set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This doesn’t contain personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

Logging In: When you log in, we’ll set cookies to save your login details and display preferences. Login cookies last two days, while screen preferences last for one year. If you choose “Remember Me,” your login will stay active for two weeks.

Editing Posts: If you edit or publish an article, we’ll save a cookie with the post ID. It doesn’t contain personal data and expires after one day.

Advertising & Third-Party Cookies

This website may display ads served by Google and other third-party vendors. These companies may use cookies to personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images, or articles. This content behaves in the same way as if you were visiting the other website directly.

These external websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and include additional third-party tracking. If you have an account with the external website and are logged in, they may also track your interactions with the embedded content.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Other than that, we do not share your personal data with third parties unless required by law or for site-related services.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and automatically approve any follow-up comments, instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if any), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users have the ability to view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided. You also have the right to request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.

Please note, this does not include any data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service to help prevent spam and ensure the quality of content on our site.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously and use appropriate security measures to protect it from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of online transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third- Party Links

Our website may contain links to external sites that are not operated by us. Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we will update the date at the bottom of this page to reflect when the changes were made. Please review this policy periodically for any updates.
